Playing the Restaurant Game

Posted on 12. Aug, 2009 by in Industry News

Food deliveries run late, staff call in sick, customers are double booked and food is served cold. Sound like fun? Well someone thinks it does because they’ve just released the sequel to the ‘widely popular’ Restaurant Empire computer game.

The game website says: “The sequel … takes you further into the depths and delights of the culinary universe than ever before.”

‘Delights’?! I may be a tad cynical, but that sounds suspiciously like a rose-tinted view of the restaurant business.

Further on, though, we read, “the customers are fickle and the bounty in your cash register changes as quickly as their tastes”.

Now that sounds a bit more realistic.

But if you’re the sort of person who takes a busman’s holiday, then visit to find out more about how to become half of married couple the Leboufs, who aim to restore their filing family restaurant business.

I suppose it is less stressful than the real thing!

Perhaps the game will inspire the younger generation to become chefs?
